The Teacher – a human rights defender of our time?

Those who take care of our children have always played an important part of our lives. Not least teachers. Today the classroom has also become a battleground for those who do not want children to receive information about gender and sexuality diversity.

In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis, who many believe could end up as the country’s next president, has recently launched so-called ‘don’t say gay laws’. And the example from the USA is only one among many.

Join us for a conversation with human rights defenders from Bulgaria, Romania, and Poland, who talk about how the authorities try to use «the best interests of children» to keep knowledge about gender and sexuality diversity out of school. And what about Norway? We have invited Inge Aleksander Gjestvang, Head of FRI, foster father and teacher, to comment on the international stories and the Norwegian context
